Turning on Live View is also the first step in recording a movie using the viewfinder isn't possible when you shoot movies. Like many dSLR cameras, the Nikon D3400 offers Live View, a feature that enables you to use the monitor instead of the viewfinder to compose photos. Now get incredible sharpness, clarity, and flattering depth of field while live streaming by using a compatible Nikon mirrorless or DSLR camera and the Nikon Webcam Utility.Go next level while streaming live, teleconferencing and gaming

New & Easy Method: this video you will learn, how to use DSLR camera as webcam. Sounds like too much work for not the greatest pay off After a few streams using a horrible old webcam I had kicking about, I decided enough was enough, i bought some kit and turned my Nikon DSLR into my webcam. Then there's the battery (can be solved using a special AC adapter).

There's considerable lag, around 300 ms IIRC (both Sparkocam or HDMI capture). There is a live view max timeout of 30 minutes (it's infinite on higher-end bodies). SparkoCam allows you to stream from various sources: you can use a regular USB web camera or Canon DSLR or Nikon DSLR camera, stream your desktop as webcam or import videos and photos from your computer and broadcast them like webcam feeds

These models aren't supported by SparkoCam and can't be used as a webcam SparkoCam is an easy to use webcam and video effects software for broadcasting and applying live webcam effects to video chats and recordings. See if your device works with SparkoCam here. I don’t think there is an answer for the D3400 here.SparkoCam for Nikon License includes all available SparkoCam features except of Canon support. The D3400 was a bit of a victim of Nikon’s cost cutting exercises and the D3300 was, as a result, a more useful camera. I think it’s a massive oversight on the D3400 for anyone wanting to move on a bit with their photography as every other option like IR or BT SnapBridge has drawbacks. That’s the primary reason I went for the D3300 when I was looking for a camera for remote camera trapping. Unfortunately, Nikon removed the DC2 accessory socket from the D3400 that its predecessors had. I have quickly realized that Nikon doesn’t keep any feature the same throughout its models, making it very difficult to find answers. Basically, I have an iPhone, which don’t have IR blasters, and I want an intervalometer that will surely work with the D3400. The videos I have seen using mobile apps have used Samsung devices with IR blasters. And the Bluetooth but not WiFi capable also makes it difficult. My research has yielded that the 3400 has changed the USB connection from it’s predecessors which makes finding an intervalometer difficult. Using a hand remote for 300-400 shots seems monotonous. But I want something programmable for time lapse and night sky photography. I’ve been having a very difficult time find a compatible intervalometer or remote shutter release for my D3400. I’m an intermediate photographer with experience in 35mm film with the D3400 being my first DSLR Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read my first post.
